Denver vs Oral Roberts 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the Denver Pioneers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Hamilton Gymnasium. Oral Roberts is coming off a Thursday matchup versus Denver. The Eagles ended up winning in a close outcome. As for Denver, they played UMKC in their Thursday game. In that one the Pioneers eked out a triple-overtime win. Oral Roberts went 3-3 in their first six games this year, beating John Brown, TX Southern and OBC. The Eagles won their next seven outings versus Rogers State, Ozark CC, Tulsa, Central AR, Liberty, Missouri State and South Dakota State. 

Matched up against Omaha on Thursday, Oral Roberts took a four-point lead into the break. The Eagles were outscored 49-48 from there but still won 92-89. Max Abmas led the way on 32 points with seven assists and four rebounds. 

Over on the Denver side, they hit a 5-1 run over their first six outings, falling to only Sacramento State. The Pioneers went 4-4 over the next eight, beating New Orleans, Houston Christian, Texas A&M-Commerce and Colorado Christian. 

In their Thursday matchup versus UMKC, Denver gave up 44 points in the second half and needed three overtime periods to pull off an 85-83 win. Tommy Bruner led the team on 29 points and Touko Tainamo posted 22 points. 

PICK: I’ll probably try Oral Roberts here. This should be an interesting matchup, though; both teams are coming off close wins that probably shouldn’t have been close. The good news for the Eagles is that they’ve been scoring well pretty much all year long. Oral Roberts has hit 77 or more points in 10 straight games. Denver has been at 66 points or fewer in two of the last three, however the Pioneers should have plenty of scoring chances here. The Eagles are giving up points at a pretty good clip this year as well. Should be a fun one.
