Evansville vs Fairfield 11/27/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Fairfield Stags and the Evansville Aces meet Sunday in college basketball action from Enmarket Arena. The Stags are coming off a Saturday matchup versus Mercer. In that one Fairfield lost a close one. As for Evansville, they played Robert Morris in their Saturday game. The Aces went on to eke out a victory. Fairfield lost to Wake Forest in their 2022-23 opener 71-59. Things didn’t get much better over the next three with losses to New Hampshire, Xavier and Wagner. Fairfield finally got a win 74-69 over Towson on Friday. 

In Saturday’s matchup versus Mercer, Fairfield kept the pace in the first half at 24-24. The Stags were outscored 36-34 in the second half for a tough 60-58 loss. Supreme Cook led the team on 17 points and seven rebounds. 

Over on the Evansville side, they won their first game this year 78-74 over Miami-OH. The Aces hit the skids after that however, falling to Saint Louis, Southeast Missouri State, SMU, UCF and South Alabama in their next five. 

Matched up against Robert Morris on Saturday, the Aces were down 37-25 going into the second half. Evansville surged on a 29-16 run and took the comeback win 54-53. Kenny Strawbridge led the team on 21 points with three boards. 

PICK: I’m leading toward Evansville but probably not touching this one. The Aces posted a gritty comeback win over Robert Morris in their Saturday game, but they didn’t play especially well. Evansville shot a tepid 36.2 percent from the field and got out-rebounded 38-35. Still, with a little momentum Evansville should be in a good place for the cover here. 

As for Fairfield, they lost a close one on Saturday. The Stags have only eclipsed 65 points twice in six games though, so this one could be a lower-scoring affair.
