The St. Francis PA Red Flash and the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights meet Thursday in college basketball action from Rothman Center. The Red Flash are 7-16 on the year so far. St. Francis PA has had a rough season so far. The Flash have only been able to win consecutive games twice this year. In the last four games, it’s been four straight losses to Wagner, Mount St. Mary’s, Bryant and Merrimack.
On Saturday against Merrimack, the Flash fought back from a 28-24 halftime deficit to force overtime. St. Francis PA couldn’t complete the comeback and lost 65-64. Tops in scoring was Josh Cohen with 26 points and 10 rebounds.
Over on the Fairleigh Dickinson side, they lost their first 10 games this year before finally notching a win over St. Francis PA. After five more losses the Knights beat Central CT State then lost to ST. Francis BK and Central CT State.
In the Saturday rematch versus Central CT State, the Knights posted a 40-32 edge by the break but had to go to overtime to finish the game. Fairleigh Dickinson couldn’t hold on and lost 91-82. Anquan Hill led the way on 18 points with six rebounds. Brandon Rush added 18 points as well.
The Knights are 0-4 ATS in their last four Thursday games and 3-7 ATS in the last 10 at home. Fairleigh Dickinson is 2-5 ATS in their last seven overall.
Meanwhile, the Flash are 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven Thursday games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four overall. The under is 6-0 in the Flash’s last six road games.
PICK: I’m going to try St. Francis PA here, but probably not going near it. There’s not a lot to get excited about in this game, but it should at least be a competitive matchup. The last time these teams met up back on New Year’s Eve, the Knights pulled off a 70-62 win. St. Francis PA has had a little more success in the win column since then but neither team has done well. I like the Flash to pull it together in this rematch and power out a revenge cover.
