Nelson Phillips led the way with 20 points on 8 of 11 shooting with a team-high 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals while Christyon Eugene had 12 points and Zay Williams and Aamer Muhammad each had 10 points with Williams shooting 5 of 9 from the floor with 9 rebounds while Muhammad shot 4 of 8 with a pair of threes and 3 assists to cap off the scoring in double figures for Troy in the win. Darius McNeill added 9 points and 4 steals as well in the victory.

The Florida State Seminoles will look to bounce back after falling to 0-2 with a 68-54 loss to UCF last time out. Darin Green Jr. led the way with 17 points on 7 of 14 shooting with 3 threes and a pair of steals while Cameron Corhen added 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting and Camron Fletcher added 11 points with a team-high 6 rebounds to round out the trio of double-digit scorers for Florida State last time out. Caleb Mills added a team-high 5 steals while Jalen Warley chipped in a team-high 5 assists.

I have gone back and forth on this game, and I lean towards Troy here. I think it’s safe to say that FSU’s played the harder opposition to this point, but that hasn’t stopped them from dropping both of their games out of the gate. I’m not saying Troy wins this one outright, but I think the Trojans are more than capable of keeping this game fairly close. Give me Troy and the points.
