The Dartmouth Big Green and the Fordham Rams meet in college basketball action from the Rose Hill Gym on Monday night.

The Dartmouth Big Green will be out to bounce back from a disappointing 2021-22 season that saw the Big Green finish at 9-16 overall, including 6-8 in Ivy League conference play, which ended their season, finishing 5th with only the top 4 teams in the Ivy League qualifying for the conference tournament. Dartmouth’s lineup will be fairly green, no pun intended, with the loss of their two double-digit scorers from 2021-22, as Brendan Barry (14.6 PPG) and Aaryn Rai (12.3 PPG, 7.2 RPG) are done with the program. Dame Adelekun is likely to be the lynchpin to kickstart the Big Green’s attack as he thrived after the calendar turned to 2022 when he was given increased minutes in Dartmouth’s frontcourt. Only time will tell if the Dartmouth can galvanize and be good enough to contend in the top half of the Ivy League this season.

The Fordham Rams will look to start the Keith Urgo era on a high note after finishing 16-16 overall, including an 8-10 mark in A-10 conference play, earning the #8 seed in the conference tournament. The Rams beat George Mason before falling to top-seeded Davidson in the quarterfinals, ending their season. Urgo takes over from Kyle Neptune, who bolted for Villanova after the sudden retirement of Jay Wright for the Wildcats, but it’s by no means a downgrade as Urgo was an assistant under Neptune, sharing a lot of the same mindset and Urgo does return Fordham’s second-leading scorer Darius Quisenberry, who had 16.2 PPG last season, but Antonio Daye and Chuba Ohams, the other two double-digit scorers from last year’s Rams group, are now moved on. The Rams have taken strides from being the perennial cellar-dweller in the A-10 and now it’ll be up to Urgo and his crew to build on that success this season.

Dartmouth is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 Monday games.

This is going to be an interesting game as I think both teams will be out to get some valuable game experience for their respective lineups that are going to be getting their feet wet on the fly. I do like the direction that Fordham is headed under new coaching, but I think this is still going to take a while to get comfortable and to implement the play style he’s looking to execute. Give me the under here.
