George Washington vs MD-Eastern Shore 11/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks and the George Washington Colonials meet Friday in college basketball action from Charles E. Smith Center. Maryland Eastern Shore is is 1-2 so far this season and fresh off a loss to Charlotte. As for George Washington, they’re currently 2-1 on the season. The Colonials lost to Hofstra on Monday. MD Eastern Shore kicked off their season with a matchup versus Old Dominion. The Hawks scored 33 points in the first half during an 84-65 loss in that one. Maryland Eastern Shore bounced back with a 90-43 win over Bryn Athyn in game two, though. 

On Monday versus Charlotte, Maryland Eastern Shore had their worst loss of the season so far. The Hawks scored just 18 points in the first half, limping to an 80-47 blowout result. Tops in scoring was Da’Shawn Phillip with 16 points. 

Over on the George Washington side, they didn’t have too much trouble with Virginia State in their opener this season and took an 85-58 win. In game two versus Howard, the Colonials scored 49 points in the second half on the way to an 85-75 win. 

The Colonials took their first loss of the year Monday versus Hofstra. George Washington went into the break trailing 48-37 and ended up with an 85-80 defeat. James Bishop went off for 44 points to lead the team, and Brendan Adams chipped in 15 points. 

PICK: I’m likely going to go with George Washington. The line’s a little thick, though. The Colonials got a great individual effort from Bishop in their last outing versus a pretty tough Hofstra team but couldn’t get over the proverbial hump. George Washington shot a sweltering 54.7 percent from the field in that one with 11-of-25 (44 percent) from 3-point range. As for Maryland Eastern Shore, they’ve posted a couple of pretty rough outings in their two losses this year. George Washington should be able to handle a cover if they’re playing well.
