Grand Canyon vs Grambling State 11/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Grambling State Tigers and the Grand Canyon Antelopes meet Friday in college basketball action from GCU Arena. Grambling State is 2-0 on the year so far. The Tigers beat Colorado in their last game. As for Grand Canyon, they’re currently 2-1 and coming off a loss to Nevada. Grambling State had a pretty safe matchup versus UNT Dallas in their opener. The Tigers scored 42 points in the second half in that one on the way to an 82-57 win. Carte’Are Gordon led the way on a double-double with 18 points and 14 boards. 

In game two versus Colorado, Grambling State kept it going with another victory. Coming out of the break the Tigers were up 46-32 and managed to hang on for the win 83-74. Shawndarius Cowart led the team with 19 points, seven boards and six assists. 

Over on the Grand Canyon side. they kicked off their 2022-23 season with a game versus Montana State. The Antelopes scored just 19 points in the first half there but came back for the win 60-54. Game two was another win, this time 101-50 versus SDCC. 

Grand Canyon had things all tied up with Nevada 24-24 back on Saturday in their third game. The Antelopes were outscored 35-22 from there however and lost 59-46. Jovan Blackshear led the team with 16 points in the defeat. 

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Grambling State. The Tigers do have a few things to improve from the Colorado game, however. Grambling State shot a nice 50 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from 3-point range in that one, but they were out-rebounded 37-33 and had 18 turnovers. As for Grand Canyon, they’ve struggled to put up points this year with 60 or fewer in two of three games. If Grambling State can get off to a good start they should have a great shot at a cover.
