The Hofstra Pride and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders meet in college basketball action from the Place Bell on Friday night.

The Hofstra Pride will look to rebound from a 76-48 loss to Saint Mary’s in their last game. Aaron Estrada leads the Pride in scoring and assists with 22.6 PPG and 4.2 APG with 4.4 RPG as well while Tyler Thomas has 14 PPG and Darlinstone Dubar has 10.8 PPG with a team-high 7 RPG to lead the Pride on the glass as the team’s top rebounder up to this point in the season. As a team, Hofstra is averaging 76.8 PPG on 48.4% shooting from the field, 39.8% from three and 76.6% from the foul line this season.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders will hope to bounce back from a 75-51 loss to Missouri State last time out. Eli Lawrence leads the Blue Raiders in scoring with 10.5 PPG while Elias King and Camryn Weston each have 10.3 PPG and 5 RPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Middle Tennessee up to this point in the season. Deandre Dishman also has 9.8 PPG with a team-high 5.5 RPG to lead the Blue Raiders on the glass this season. As a team, Middle Tennessee is averaging 69.8 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field, 28.9% from three and 61.4% from the foul line this season.

Hofstra is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 neutral site games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games following an ATS loss. Middle Tennessee is 15-4-2 ATS in their last 21 games against a team with a winning record and 24-9-2 ATS in their last 35 games overall while the under is 22-8 in their last 30 games following a loss.

I get the case to be made either way here, but truthfully, I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen from Hofstra and think they’ll rival Towson as the teams to beat in the CAA this season. Middle Tennessee is solid, but I just think the Pride are the better and more talented team here. Give me Hofstra.
