Howard vs Buffalo 11/19/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Buffalo Bulls and the Howard Bison meet Saturday in college basketball action from Sports and Fitness Center. Buffalo is 1-3 so far this year following a Friday loss to Drake. Buffalo opened up their year with a matchup versus Colgate. The Bulls were down 41-38 but eventually prevailed 88-87 in a comeback win. Unfortunately, Buffalo fell in their next two outings 97-62 to James Madison and 84-64 to UConn. 

Buffalo’s losing streak continued following a Friday matchup versus Drake. The Bulls had a 40-33 lead by halftime but blew it in the second during an 80-72 loss. LaQuill Hardnett topped the scoring on a double-double with 26 points and 12 boards. 

Over on the Howard side, their year began with a tough matchup versus Kentucky. The Bison lost that one 95-63, but then beat District of Columbia 87-74. After an 85-75 loss to George Washington, Howard beat Gallaudet 108-56 and lost to James Madison 95-69. 

In the Friday game versus Wyoming, Howard was up 38-32 at the break. The Bison faded in the second half during a 78-71 loss. Elijah Hawkins led the team on 17 points with six assists, and Steve Settle added 14 points with eight boards. 

PICK: I might take a stab on Buffalo here. The Bulls have had a few rough outings this year so far, but they didn’t do too badly versus Drake. Buffalo shot 43.1 percent from the field in that one with a 37-32 rebounding advantage. The Bulls had just seven team assists and shot only 4-of-15 (26.7 percent) from 3-point range, though. 

As for Howard, they put up a good first-half effort against Wyoming and shot 45.8 percent overall. The Bison gave up 61.7 percent shooting on the other side though, so Buffalo could have some good looks in Saturday’s game.
