The Drexel Dragons and the La Salle Explorers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Tom Gola Arena. Drexel enters this matchup at 4-5 overall. The Dragons lost to Princeton in their last game. As for La Salle, they’re currently 5-4 and fresh off a win versus Bucknell. Drexel went 3-1 over their first four outings this year, beating Old Dominion, Arcadia and TX-Arlington. The Dragons lost to Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana State and Temple before another win over Lafayette.

Matched up against Princeton last weekend, the Dragons were down 36-27 by halftime. Drexel was outscored 47-36 in the second half and limped to an 83-63 blowout loss. Lamar Oden Jr. was tops in scoring with 16 points.

Over on the La Salle side, they went 2-3 over their first five outings with losses to Villanova, Wake Forest and Georgetown. The Explorers hit a 3-1 run after that, taking out Binghamton, Penn and Bucknell along the way.

On Tuesday versus Bucknell, La Salle scored 41 points in each half during an 82-72 victory. Tops in scoring was Andres Marrero with 16 points. Fousseyni Drame added 15 points, and both Hassan Drama and Jhamir Brickus posted 12 points apiece.

PICK: I’ll probably try La Salle in this one. The Explorers have had some bumps in the road this season, however they’re generally keeping pace with comparable squads. La Salle has hit a combined 166 points over their last two games, which is a welcome sight after four straight outings with 65 or fewer. As for Drexel, they’ve posted 64 or fewer points in three straight games. That said, I like the Dragons to match up well here and hang around in a high-scoring finish.
