Loyola-Chicago vs Clemson 12/10/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Clemson Tigers and the Loyola Ramblers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Philips Arena. Clemson is sitting at 8-2 this year. The Tigers beat Towson in their last game. Clemson got off to a 4-2 start this year, beating the Citadel, USC Upstate, Bellarmine and Loyola MD along the way. Since then the Tigers have taken out California, Penn State, Wake Forest and Towson. 

Matched up against Towson on Wednesday, Clemson held a slim 37-35 lead at the break. The Tigers kept the pressure up in the second half and Clemson emerged with an 80-75 win. PJ Hall was tops in scoring with 22 points.

Over on the Loyola side, they won their first pair this year before a losing streak to Tulsa, Boise State, Texas A&M and Harvard. The Ramblers would then beat Central Arkansas and lose to DePaul in the next pair. 

Loyola took on Green Bay in their last matchup on Tuesday. The Ramblers jumped out to a 37-16 halftime lead. Loyola scored another 33 in the second in a 70-46 blowout win. Braden Norris led the team on 18 points and four boards.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Clemson. The Tigers are coming off a nice performance against a pretty good Towson team, bagging 53.8 percent shooting from the field and an excellent 14-of-23 (60.9 percent) from 3-point range. Clemson was out-rebounded 36-33 (15-7 offensive) but also had 21 team assists. The Tigers have scored 67 or more points in each of their last eight games, and they should put up a good total here as well. Loyola has hit 70 or more points in three straight games but I don’t think they’ve got the legs to keep a cover pace here.
