Loyola-Chicago vs Wisconsin-Green Bay 12/6/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Green Bay Phoenix and the Loyola Ramblers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Gentile Arena. Green Bay is fresh off a Monday matchup versus IUPUI. In that one the Phoenix bagged a seven-point victory. As for Loyola, they’re 3-5 and coming off a loss to DePaul over the weekend. Green Bay has struggled mightily this season. The Phoenix kicked things off with an 0-7 run, falling to Indiana State, Georgetown, Wisconsin, Queens NC, Utah Valley, UIC and Milwaukee in succession. 

In the Monday matchup versus IUPUI, Green Bay got off to a 32-24 advantage by halftime. The Phoenix scored 36 more points in the second and were able to hang on for the 68-61 victory. It was Green Bay’s first victory of the season. 

Over on the Loyola side, they began the year with a pair of wins over Fairleigh Dickinson and UIC. The Ramblers then lost four straight to Tulsa, Boise State, Texas A&M and Harvard before another win versus Central Arkansas. 

Loyola fell back into the loss column on Saturday versus DePaul. The Ramblers blew a 37-24 halftime lead and had to go to overtime, eventually falling 78-72. Marquise Kennedy led the team on 26 points with five rebounds. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Loyola. Also probably not touching this one, though. The line’s too thick to mess with. Loyola is coming off a disappointing loss to DePaul despite shooting 52.8 percent from the field and out-rebounding the Blue Demons 36-23. The Ramblers had 16 turnovers and shot just 8-of-13 (61.5 percent) from the line in the defeat. That said, when Loyola scores 70 or more points this year, they’ve won three of four games. Less than 70, they’re 0-4 so far. The Ramblers should be able to put up a decent total here, and I think they’ll eke out a cover.
