Loyola-MD vs Brown 11/13/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Brown Bears and the Loyola Greyhounds meet Sunday in college basketball action from Reitz Arena. Brown is 0-2 so far this year after a loss to Colgate in their most recent game. Brown took on Vermont in their season opener back on Monday. The Bears scored a tepid 28 points in the first half and eventually lost 80-65. Leading scorer Kino Lilly put up 18 points, and Paxson Wojcik doubled on 13 points and 10 boards. 

In game two versus Colgate, Brown scored a little better but still lost. The Bears were down 34-31 by halftime and fell 77-68 by game’s end. Nana Owusu-Anane topped the team on 13 points and seven rebounds with two assists. 

Over on the Loyola side, they kicked things off with a matchup versus DePaul. The Greyhounds scored just 25 first-half points and lost 72-66. Kenny Jones led the team on 20 points and Golden Dike added nine points with 11 boards. 

Matched up against Penn State in game two, Loyola coughed up 40 points in the first and 50 in the second half in a 90-65 loss. Jaylin Andrews led the way on 23 points and Dike notched 10 points with six boards in 29 minutes of work.

PICK: I’m probably leaning Loyola but I’m not touching this one. Neither team has looked too good so far. The Greyhounds shot a pretty solid 46.4 percent from the field against Penn State, but they were overmatched on the boards (33-26) and in team assists (21-14) during the loss. Game one against DePaul was a mildly better effort against a more comparable opponent. That should also be the case here; we should have a pretty good matchup on our hands and I think it’ll be a close one.
