The NJIT Highlanders and the Maine Black Bears meet in college basketball action from the Cross Insurance Center on Sunday afternoon.

The NJIT Highlanders will look to build on wins in three of their last four games after a 59-55 win over UMass-Lowell last time out. Miles Coleman leads the Highlanders in scoring and rebounding with 15 PPG with 6 RPG while Dylan O’Hearn has 12.6 PPG as the only other double-digit scorer for NJIT up to this point in the year. Antwuan Butler also has a team-high 2.7 APG as well to lead the Highlanders in the assist department this season. As a team, NJIT is averaging 63.4 PPG on 40.8% shooting from the field, 32.4% from three and 65.7% from the foul line while allowing 67.3 PPG on 41.3% shooting from the field and 31.4% from three this season.

The Maine Black Bears will hope to bounce back from back-to-back losses after a 75-65 loss to Hartford on the road last time out. Vukasin Masic leads the Black Bears across the board with 9.8 PPG, 3.8 RPG and 3.2 APG while Maks Klanjscek has 9.8 PPG as well this season. As a team, Maine is averaging 61.7 PPG on 41.1% shooting from the field, 31.4% from three and 70.6% from the foul line while allowing 70.5 PPG on 47.1% shooting from the field and 36.9% from three this season.

NJIT is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Maine is 3-11-1 ATS in their last 15 Sunday games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games while the over is 12-3 in their last 15 games overall.

I get the case to be ade either way in this one, but it’s NJIT who have been playing the better basketball as of late and who have also had more success on the road than Maine has had at home. Not a game I’m rushing to the window to put my money on, but if forced to pick, I’d side with NJIT on the road here.
