The Jackson State Tigers and the Miami-OH RedHawks meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Millett Hall. Jackson State is 0-5 this year and coming off a blowout loss to Indiana. As for Miami-OH, they’re 2-4 overall. The RedHawks beat Little Rock in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Jackson State hasn’t had any luck in the win column this year but they’ve had a few close calls. The Tigers lost to Abilene Christian, Tulsa, Little Rock and Michigan over their first four games of 2022-23.

The losing streak continued for Jackson State in their Friday matchup versus Indiana. The Hoosiers dropped 46 points in the second half and the Tigers lost 90-51. Jackson State’s Trace Young led the way on 13 points.

Over on the Miami-OH side, they lost to Evansville in their opener before a win versus Goshen. The RedHawks would drop their next three games to Georgia, Marshall and Indiana for a 1-4 record across the first five outings.

In Saturday’s matchup versus Little Rock, Miami-OH finally got back into the win column. The RedHawks jumped out to a 43-27 halftime lead and cruised from there in an 80-67 win. Mekhi Lairy was tops in scoring with 25 points and six assists.

PICK: I’m going to try Miami-OH here. Granted, there’s not much to like about this matchup. That said, it should be reasonably competitive if both teams are on point. Miami-OH has scored pretty well this year (especially for a 2-4 team) with 69 or more points in five of six games. Jackson State has 68 or more points in three of five games, so if the Tigers get into a good rhythm I could see them hanging around here. It should be Miami-OH’s cover, though.
