Ohio vs Alabama State 11/27/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Alabama State Hornets and the Ohio Bobcats meet Sunday in college basketball action from Ohio University Convocation Center. Alabama State is coming off a Saturday matchup versus Eastern Illinois. In that one the Hornets managed a nine-point victory. Alabama State has had a rough year so far. The Hornets opened up with losses to UAB 111-70 and USC 96-58. The next pair were losses to Pepperdine and San Jose State, then Alabama State fell to Pittsburgh and Duquesne. 

On Saturday versus Eastern Illinois, the Hornets got off to a 36-29 start and scored 31 more points in the second half on the way to a 67-58 win. Amarr Knox was the top team scorer with 18 points and two steals during Alabama State’s first win of the year. 

Over on the Ohio side, they lost to Belmont 70-69 in their opener but bounced back for an 81-70 win over Cleveland State in game two. The Bobcats would then lose their next pair to Detroit and Michigan. 

On Friday versus Eastern Illinois, the Bobcats scored 37 points in the first half and 41 more after the break on the way to a 78-67 victory. Ben Roderick led the team on 15 points, and Miles Brown added 14 points with three boards. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Ohio here. Granted, there’s not a ton to like about this matchup but the Bobcats haven’t played too badly over their last couple of outings. Ohio shot a decent 42.2 percent versus Eastern Illinois in their last game, out-rebounding the opposition 42-27 along the way. Alabama State should be within Ohio’s wheelhouse and I don’t think the Bobcats will have too many issues.
