The Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners meet in college basketball action from the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Texas Longhorns will look to build on their current five-game win streak after a 97-72 win over Texas A&M Commerce last time out. Marcus Carr leads the Longhorns in scoring and assists with 17.8 PPG and 4.3 APG while Tyrese Hunter has 11.3 PPG with 3.8 RPG so far this season to round out the pair of double-digit scorers for the Longhorns. Timmy Allen has a team-high 6 RPG to lead the Longhorns on the glass and a team-high 4.3 APG to lead the way in assists in addition to his 9.8 PPG this season. As a team, Texas is averaging 83.8 PPG on 50% shooting from the field, 33.8% from three and 69.4% from the foul line this season.

The Oklahoma Sooners will look to build on a 62-53 win over Florida in their last game. Grant Sherfield leads the Sooners in scoring and assists with 18 PPG along with 3.8 APG while Tanner Groves has 11.1 PPG and 6.9 RPG to lead the Sooners in rebounding to cap off the pair of double-digit scorers for Oklahoma so far this year. As a team, Oklahoma is averaging 69 points per game on 50.5% shooting from the field, 39.8% from three point range and 71.4% from the foul line this season.

Texas is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Oklahoma is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

The Longhorns have had some issues with off-court distractions, but aside from that, it’s really hard to ignore just how good the Longhorns have been outside of the blip against Rice. On the other side, the Sooners are rock solid defensively, but I worry that their pace and defense won’t be able to keep pace when Texas are hitting their open looks. I think this experienced Texas team won’t have any issues going on the road for the first time this season, so give me Texas laying the bucket.
