Penn State vs Lafayette 11/25/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Lafayette Leopards and the Penn State Nittany Lions meet Friday in college basketball action from Bryce Jordan Center. Lafayette is 1-5 overall this year and fresh off a loss to Penn. As for Penn State, they’re sitting at 5-1 on the season. The Lions beat Colorado State on Sunday in their last game. Lafayette hit the skids coming out of the gate this year, falling in four straight games. The Leopards lost to Miami-FL, St. John’s, Saint Joseph’s and UMBC in their first quartet before finally getting a 55-50 win over Central CT State. 

In the matchup versus Penn on Tuesday, Lafayette fell back into the loss column. The Leopards managed to force overtime but ultimately lost 74-68. Leo O’Boyle put up 16 points, and Jon Brantley had 13 points for Lafayette. 

Over on the Penn State side, they experienced the inverse with four straight wins over their first quartet this year. The Lions beat Winthrop, Loyola MD, Butler and Furman in succession before falling to Virginia Tech last Friday. 

On Sunday in the Colorado State game, the Lions took a 33-21 edge into the second half. Penn State kept the pace from there and ended up with a 68-56 win. Seth Lundy scored 17 points and Jalen Pickett put up 16 points with 11 boards. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Penn State. The Nittany Lions managed a solid win over a pretty good Colorado State team in their last outing. Penn State shot 41.8 percent in that one but did lose the rebounding battle 42-35. As for Lafayette, it’s been a tough run through six games so far. The Leopards haven’t eclipsed 68 points yet this year and probably won’t in this one either. It should be Penn State’s cover to take.
