Portland State vs Oregon State 11/27/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oregon State Beavers and the Portland State Vikings meet Sunday in college basketball action from Chiles Center. Oregon State is 3-3 overall and fresh off a loss to Florida. Oregon State managed to win their first three games, taking out Tulsa, Florida A&M and NW Christian in that trio. The Beavers have since hit a losing streak, however. Oregon State lost to Portland State and Duke in their next pair. 

The Beavers’ slide continued on Friday versus Florida. Oregon State was outpaced 42-29 in the first half and couldn’t get any closer in an 81-68 loss. Leading scorers Jordan Pope and Tyler Bilodeau each managed 12 points. 

Over on the Portland State side, they lost their first two games of the year versus Portland and Seattle. The Vikings were able to bounce back with wins over Evergreen State and Oregon State, then hit another loss to Gonzaga 102-78. 

On Friday versus West Virginia, the Vikings faced a 53-36 deficit by halftime. Portland State kept up the pace in the second half but still lost 89-71. Cameron Parker topped the team on 19 points, and Hunter Woods added 12 points. 

PICK: I might try Oregon State in this one. When these teams last met back on November 19 at Gill Coliseum, the Beavers didn’t play especially well. Oregon State shot a reasonable 43.5 percent from the field with 30 rebounds, but the Beavers also had 18 turnovers and hit just 2-of-13 (15.4 percent) from 3-point range. The Vikings have been a high-scoring team so far this year with 71 or more points in every outing. Oregon State is going to have to get their offense going, but I think they’re capable of hitting a cover here.
