Presbyterian vs Campbell 12/29/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Campbell Camels and the Presbyterian Blue Hose meet Thursday in college basketball action from Templeton Physical Education Center. Campbell is 5-7 overall this year. The Camels lost to UNC Wilmington in their last game. As for Presbyterian, they’re 4-9 on the season following a win over Allen last week. Campbell managed to go 3-3 over their first six games this year, beating St. Augustine, App State and Kennesaw State. The Camels hit a 2-4 stretch after that with losses to East Carolina, Evansville, GA Southern and UNC Wilmington. 

In the UNC Wilmington game, the Camels took a 35-29 edge into the break. Campbell was outscored 45-31 from there and lost 74-66. Anthony Dell’Orso posted 20 points with nine rebounds and two assists to lead the Camels. 

Over on the Presbyterian side, they’ve got wins over Piedmont International, VMI, Elon and Allen this year. The losses have come to the Citadel, East Carolina, UAB, Bucknell, Albany, Charlotte, Wofford, Charleston and South Carolina. 

In the Allen game last Monday, the Hose were up 35-21 going into the second half. Presbyterian posted another 55 points from there and won it 90-70. Jalen Forrest led the team on 15 points, and Kobe Stewart added 12 points. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Campbell. Probably not touching this one, though. The Camels haven’t looked great over this 1-4 stretch; they’ve failed to hit 70 points in all four of their losses. That said, Campbell can score pretty well this year in comparable matchups and I think they’ll be fine here. As for Presbyterian, they’ve won consecutive games for the first time this year, logging 69 or more points in both games. I think the Hose can hang around in this one but ultimately I think Campbell is the better cover option.
