Princeton vs Hofstra 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Hofstra Pride and Princeton Tigers meet Monday in college basketball action at the Jadwin Gymnasium. The Hofstra Pride are coming off a 21-win season. The Princeton Tigers are coming off a 23-win season.

The Hofstra Pride have won 20-plus games 15 times in school history. Aaron Estrada returns after averaging 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds, while Darlinstone Dubar averaged 11.7 points and 1 assist. Jaquan Carlos returns after he played in 163 minutes last season. Those are the only 3 players the Hofstra Pride return from last season. The good news is Estrada is one of the best players in the CAA, as he does a bit of everything and shot 47.7 percent from the field. Hofstra has a fighting chance with Estrada on the court.

The Princeton Tigers have won 20-plus games 26 times in school history. Tosan Evbuomwan returns after averaging 16 points and 6.7 rebounds, while Ryan Langborg averaged 10.7 points and 1.8 assists. Matt Allocco played in 642 minutes last season, and Keeshawn Kellman averaged 2.4 rebounds. The Princeton Tigers return a good portion of last year’s roster including their best player in Evbuomwan who shot 54.1 percent from the field and averaged a team best 5.1 assists. Princeton is going to be a factor in the Ivy League this season. 

The Pride are 41-19-1 ATS in their last 61 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Tigers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The over is 5-1 in Pride last 6 overall. The under is 4-0 in Tigers last 4 home games.

Both teams should feel good about where they’re at heading into the season, and they’re led by one of the better players in their respective conferences. With that said, I have to give the slight edge to the Princeton Tigers, who are at home in this matchup. While Hofstra has been covering machines on the road over the years, we’re not being asked to lay much here. Give me Princeton and the small chalk.
