The Marquette Golden Eagles and the Providence Friars meet in Big East conference college basketball action from the Amica Mutual Pavilion on Tuesday night.

The Marquette Golden Eagles will be out to build on their three-game win streak after a 69-58 win over Creighton last time out. Kam Jones leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with 15.8 PPG along with 3.9 RPG while Olivier-Maxence Prosper has 15 PPG with 5 RPG. David Joplin has 10.3 PPG with 3.8 RPG and Oso Ighodaro also has 11.3 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG to lead the Golden Eagles on the glass while rounding out the group of double-digit scorers for Marquette this season. Tyler Kolek also has 8.2 PPG with 4.1 RPG and a team-high 7.8 APG this season. As a team, Marquette is averaging 81.1 PPG on 49.1% shooting from the field, 33.9% from three and 69.1% from the foul line this season.

The Providence Friars will be on the hunt to build on a 71-67 road win over Seton Hall last time out. Bryce Hopkins leads the Friars in scoring and rebounding with 15.7 PPG and 8.6 RPG while Ed Croswell has 12.6 PPG with 6.8 RPG and Devin Carter has 10.9 PPG with 4.4 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Providence so far this season. Jared Bynum also has 8.3 PPG with a team-high 4.9 APG to lead the Friars in assists this season. As a team, Providence is averaging 79.5 PPG on 47.8% shooting from the field, 33% from three and 73.3% from the foul line this season.

Marquette is 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 road games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 road games. Providence is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 20-9 ATS in their last 29 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the reasoning for backing either of these sides here. But I’m looking at Marquette here. I get that Providence at home is worth a look any time you get them near a coin flip, but the Golden Eagles have been shooting from deep really well as of late over their last few games and I just don’t know if Providence will be able to shut that down or even match it if needed. Probably a game I’d rather watch than bet, but give me Marquette here.
