The Saint Louis Billikens and Providence Friars meet Sunday in college basketball action at the Mohegan Sun Arena. The Saint Louis Billikens look to build on their 3-1 start. The Providence Friars also look for their fourth win.

The Saint Louis Billikens are averaging 82.8 points on 45.5 percent shooting and allowing 78 points on 40.2 percent shooting. Gibson Jimerson is averaging 18.7 points and 3.7 rebounds, while Yuri Collins is averaging 14 points and 12 assists. Javon Pickett is the third double-digit scorer and Javonte Perkins is grabbing 1 rebound. The Saint Louis Billikens are shooting 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 79.1 percent from the free throw line. The Saint Louis Billikens are allowing 33 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 38.8 rebounds per game.

The Providence Friars are averaging 79.8 points on 48.4 percent shooting and allowing 70 points on 44.1 percent shooting. Bryce Hopkins is averaging 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds, while Clifton Moore is averaging 13 points and 5 rebounds. Noah Locke is the third double-digit scorer and Ed Croswell is grabbing 7.7 rebounds. The Providence Friars are shooting 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 71.4 percent from the free throw line. The Providence Friars are allowing 44.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32 rebounds per game.

The Saint Louis Billikens have probably been the more impressive team up to this point given their schedule, and their defensive effort has been solid. However, the Providence Friars are the more talented side from top to bottom and their offense is cooking early. This is also pretty much a home game for Providence with it taking lace in Connecticut, and having a packed house helps when guys may be dealing with fatigue with their second game in as many days. I’ll side with the Friars in this spot.
