The New Orleans Privateers and the Purdue Boilermakers meet in college basketball action from the Mackey Arena on Wednesday night.

The New Orleans Privateers will look to build on a 79-71 win over subdivision Dillard Bleu in their last game. Jordan Johnson leads the Privateers in scoring and assists with 14.9 PPG and 3.7 APG while Khaleb Wilson-Rouse has 11.6 PPG with 4.4 RPG and Tyson Jackson has 10 PPG with a team-high 4.7 RPG to lead the Privateers in the rebounding department up to this point in the season and to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for the Privateers so far this season. As a team, New Orleans is averaging 67.5 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, 35.4% from three and 70.4% from the foul line this season.

The Purdue Boilermakers will be out to build on a 69-61 win over Davidson in their last game. Zach Edey leads the Boilermakers in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double per game with 22.6 PPG and 13.9 RPG while Fletcher Loyer has 13.2 PPG and 2.9 APG as the only other double-digit scorer for Purdue up to this point in the season. Ethan Morton and Braden Smith also have a team-high 3.6 APG apiece to lead Purdue in the assist department up to this point in the season. As a team, Purdue is averaging 77.1 PPG on 44.9% shooting from the field, 31.5% from three and 76.2% from the foul line this season.

New Orleans is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 road games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the over is 8-3 in their last 11 road games against a team with a home winning percentage above .600. Purdue is 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-6-2 ATS in their last 9 home games against a team with a losing road record while the under is 6-2 in their last 8 home games.

Well, this one’s fairly straightforward, as New Orleans has been god awful when taking steps up in competition this season, losing to the likes of LSU by 29, Portland by 39 and Boise State by 41, as well as Butler by 36 to start the year. Now the Privateers have to hold down one of the most efficient offenses in the country? Yikes. The only concern here is does Purdue take their foot off of the gas, but I’m not sure they do here. Give me the Boilermakers by 40+.
