The Milwaukee Panthers and the Purdue Boilermakers meet in college basketball action from the Mackie Arena on Tuesday night.

The Milwaukee Panthers will try to take a step forward in 2021-22, finishing the year at 10-21 overall, including an 8-14 mark in Horizon League conference play. The Panthers were the 9-seed in the Horizon League tournament, falling to UIC in the first round and ending their season as a result. The Panthers will need to replace Patrick Baldwin Jr. (12.1 PPG, 5.8 RPG) and Deandre Gholston (14.3 PPG, 4.4 RPG) but did well in the transfer portal to bring in Jalen Johnson (16 PPG, 7.3 RPG) from Alabama A&M and Jordan Ratliffe (15 PPG, 4.2 RPG) from subdivision UNC-Pembroke to give the Panthers some punch offensively so far this season.

The Purdue Boilermakers will try to build on another solid season for the program, after finishing 29-8, including a 14-6 mark in Big Ten conference play. The Boilermakers took out Penn State and Michigan State before falling to Iowa in the Big Ten title game. The Boilermakers took out Yale and Texas in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament before being knocked out by Saint Peter’s in the sweet 16. The Boilermakers have it tough in one sense this season, with Zach Edey (14.4 PPG, 7.7 RPG) as the lone double-digit scorer from last season being back, with Jaden Ivey going to the Detroit Pistons, while Trevion Williams and Sasha Stefanovic are all done as well. It’s a fairly green team for Purdue and Matt Painter, but only time will tell if the Boilermakers have the chops to battle through the adversity early on and get back to prominence in the Big Ten.

Milwaukee is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games while the over is 7-3 in their last 10 Tuesday games. Purdue is 2-9-2 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 home games while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 Tuesday games.

I get the case to be made either way in this game, but I’m looking at the over here. I think this is simply a case of Purdue getting their points as they should have no problem scoring into the 80s, and that doesn’t leave much work to do from the Panthers as there are still some pieces to build on despite losing a fair bit of talent from last year. Give me the over here.
