The Richmond Spiders and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies meet in college basketball action from the Reilly Center on Friday night.

The Richmond Spiders come into this one looking to bounce back from a 55-53 loss to Dayton in their last game. Tyler Burton leads the Spiders in scoring and rebounding with 16.4 PPG and 7.4 RPG while Grant Golden has 14.5 PPG with 6.4 RPG and 2.9 APG. Jacob Gilyard has 12.6 PPG with a team-high 5.7 APG to lead the Spiders in assists and to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Richmond up to this point in the year. As a team, Richmond is averaging 72.5 PPG on 44.7% shooting from the field, 34% from three and 72% from the foul line while allowing 69 PPG on 44.1% shooting from the field and 35.2% from three this season.

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will try to bounce back after a 74-51 defeat at the hands of VCU last time out. Jalen Adaway leads the Bonnies in scoring with 15.8 PPG along with 6.4 RPG while Jaren Holmes has 13.6 PPG with 5.3 RPG and 3.7 APG this season. Kyle Lofton has 12.9 PPG with a team-high 5.9 APG to lead the Bonnies in the assist department this season. Dominick Welch has 12.1 PPG with 5.9 RPG and Osun Osunniyi has 11.2 PPG with a team-high 7.6 RPG to lead the Bonnies on the glass this season. As a team, St. Bonaventure is averaging 70.6 PPG on 45% shooting from the field, 32.1% from three and 75.6% from the foul line while allowing 68.7 PPG on 42.5% shooting from the field and 34.5% from three this season.

Richmond is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a loss and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-0-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. St. Bonaventure is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS loss while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record.

I get the case to be made either way here, and this is a game to monitor because I’m basing this pick on the assumption that Osun Osunniyi plays for the Bonnies (he’s currently listed as questionable with an ankle issue) and if he does, I like St. Bonaventure here. Richmond just hasn’t impressed me if I’m being honest but if Osunniyi can’t go, I don’t trust anyone else to be that interior presence to stop the Spiders. Likely a game to leave alone, but if forced to pic, I’d lean towards the Bonnies laying the points.
