The Southern Indiana Screaming Eagles and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Reilly Center. Southern Indiana is 2-2 on the year following a win over Loras. As for St. Bonaventure, they’re 2-2 and coming off a win over Bowling Green. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Southern Indiana opened up their season versus Missouri. The Eagles kept pace relatively well in a 97-91 loss. After a 71-53 win over Southern Illinois in game two, Southern Indiana took an 82-70 loss to Notre Dame last Wednesday.

In Friday’s matchup versus Loras, Southern Indiana didn’t have too much trouble. The Eagles jumped out to a 37-20 lead at the break and cruised to the 87-55 win. Jelani Simmons led the team with 21 points and four rebounds.

Over on the St. Bonaventure side, their year began with a 71-58 victory over St. Francis PA. The Bonnies were unable to keep the momentum going and they lost their next pair to Canisius 84-80 and South Dakota State 66-62.

In Saturday’s matchup against Bowling Green, the Bonnies scored 33 points in the first half. St. Bonaventure ended the game on a 48-42 run and took the win 81-68. Daryl Banks posted 34 points with six rebounds and three assists.

PICK: I’m going with St. Bonaventure. Probably not touching this one, though. The Bonnies put up 46.3 percent shooting from the field and 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) from 3-point range in their win over Bowling Green. St. Bonaventure added 40 rebounds and 14 assists in a pretty well-rounded game. That said, Southern Indiana might be a tricky opponent. The Eagles have scored well this year with 70 or more points in every game. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Southern Indiana cover either.
