The Stony Brook Seawolves snapped a 2-game losing streak and improved to 17-13 on the season after defeating the Albany Great Danes, 66-50, this past Saturday. Stony Brook was outstanding defensively against Albany and the Seawolves were able to pull away in the 2nd half after taking a 50-31 lead with 9:55 left in regulation. Stony Brook shot 48.0% from the field & 20.0% from beyond the arc while holding Albany to just 29.7% shooting from the field. & 26.7% from beyond the arc. The Highlanders are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 Tuesday games & 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Seawolves are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win & 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games.

NJIT has been led by their defense which ranks 154th in scoring defense & 134th in defensive FG%, however, the Highlanders have really struggled on the offensive end as they come into this matchup ranked just 331st in scoring offense & 318th in FG%. Stony Brook has been led by their offense which ranks 148th in scoring offense, however, the defense has had some issues this season as the Seawolves rank just 279th in scoring defense & 295th in defensive FG%.

Stony Brook is 12-4 at home this season and is coming off a solid win against Albany, however, this is still a team that has lost 6 of their last 10 games and has a defense that can give up plenty of points. NJIT has struggled as of late, however, this is still a team that has a road win at New Hampshire and was able to defeat Stony Brook at home by a 65-62 margin. NJIT should be able to find some more success on the offensive end than we’re used to seeing against the below average Stony Brook defense and as I think the Highlanders can keep this one within single-digits, I’m taking NJIT and the points. Good Luck!
