TCU vs Northwestern State 11/14/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Northwestern State Demons and the TCU Horned Frogs meet Monday in college basketball action from Schollmaier Arena. Northwestern State is 1-2 so far this season and coming off a loss to Illinois State. As for TCU, they’re 2-0 on the year following a win over Lamar in their last outing. Northwestern State faced off against Texas Tech in their first game of the year. That one didn’t go so well; it was a 73-49 blowout loss for the Demons. The good news is that Northwestern State bounced back well against Ouachita Baptist with a 79-68 win. 

In game three versus Illinois State, the Demons slipped back into the loss column. After a 32-32 halftime tie, Northwestern State couldn’t keep up in a 69-67 loss. Demarcus Sharp led the team on 15 points with two rebounds and two assists. 

Over on the TCU side, they had a razor-close opener matchup versus AR-Pine Bluff. The Frogs were down 46-35 by halftime but rallied in the second for a 73-72 comeback victory. Emanuel Miller led the team scoring on 19 points and five boards. 

The Frogs’ second game versus Lamar went more smoothly. TCU scored 36 points in the first half and 41 more in the second for a 77-66 win. Mike Miles was the high man this time with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists.

PICK: I’m going to stay with TCU. Probably not touching it, though. The Frogs haven’t exactly blown doors off in their first couple of games this year, but they’re getting the wins in the books. TCU shot 43.5 percent from the field in their win over Lamar, posting 44 rebounds and 20 assists along the way. It was a much more reassuring performance than the near-disaster in the opener. The Frogs should have their way with Northwestern State; the Demons don’t have a ton of firepower.
