The Oregon Ducks and the Texas A&M Aggies meet Saturday in NIT college basketball tournament action from Reed Arena. Oregon is 20-14 overall this season. The Ducks beat Utah State in their last game. As for Texas A&M, they’re 24-12 and coming off a win over Alcorn State. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Oregon had a pretty good run in the first part of the year, and they were sitting at 17-8 back on February 14. The Ducks would eventually fall to 18-13 as the regular season ended, then lost to Colorado in the conference tournament.

Oregon was able to turn things around Tuesday and bag a win over Utah State. The Ducks were down early but ultimately took the 83-72 win after a 50-35 second half. De’Vion Harmon led the team with 19 points and three rebounds during the victory.

Over on the Texas A&M side, they’ve played great basketball this year, outside of an ugly 1-9 stretch back in January/February. The Aggies rebounded with a seven-game win streak after that, then fell to Tennessee in the conference tourney.

Texas A&M got a win over Alcorn State in NIT activity Tuesday. The Aggies held a 27-27 tie at halftime, then used a 47-35 second-half run for a 74-62 win. Tyrece Redford led the team with his 14 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double.

The Aggies are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home and 7-2 ATS in their last nine overall. The over is 11-3 in Texas A&M’s last 14 Saturday games.

Meanwhile, the Ducks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven road games and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 after an ATS win. Oregon is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games.

PICK: I’m probably sticking with the Aggies. Texas A&M certainly had a tough run last month, but they were able to recover quite well. The Aggies have still got a great case for complaining about the national tournament snub; they’re a very talented team. That said, Oregon should provide a decent challenge here. The Ducks have scored 69 or more points in three straight games, and they’ve got some impressive wins on the resume this season. Still, I think Texas A&M has cover control in this one.
