The Houston Christian Huskies and the Texas Tech Red Raiders meet in college basketball action from the United Supermarkets Arena on Wednesday afternoon.

The Houston Christian Huskies will look to bounce back from a 100-90 loss to UTRGV in their last game. Brycen Long leads the Huskies in scoring with 15 PPG along with 2.4 APG while Bonke Maring has 14.7 PPG with 5.8 RPG and Maks Klanjscek has 11.1 PPG and 2.8 APG this season. Pierce Bazil has 10.3 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Houston Christian so far this season while Andrew King has 7 PPG and a team-high 3.7 APG to lead the Huskies in assists. As a team, Houston Christian is averaging 80.2 PPG on 48% shooting from the field, 36.7% from three and 67.5% from the foul line this season.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will try to build on a 102-52 rout of Jackson State in their last game. Kevin Obanor leads the Red Raiders in scoring with 15.3 PPG along with 5.8 RPG while De’Vion Harmon has 11 PPG with a team-high 3.4 APG to lead Texas Tech in assists this season. Daniel Batcho has 13 PPG with a team-high 8.3 RPG to lead the Red Raiders in rebounding while Pop Isaacs has 10.3 PPG with 2.7 APG to cap off the scoring in double figures for Texas Tech up to this point in the year. As a team, Texas Tech is averaging 75.9 PPG on 48.3% shooting from the field, 34.5% from three and 73.3% from the foul line this season.

Houston Christian is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Texas Tech is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 home games.

I get the case to be made for the Huskies here as they’ve had some success offensively and this is a huge number to be laying with Texas Tech. However, the Huskies have been porous on the defensive end and while they’ve had success, they haven’t had success against any team on the level of Texas Tech from a defensive perspective. All in all, I think this is a spot where Texas Tech delivers a pre-holiday beatdown to Houston Christian so I’ll lay the points with the Red Raiders in this one.
