UConn vs Georgetown 12/20/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Georgetown Hoyas and the UConn Huskies meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Gampel Pavilion. Georgetown is 5-7 on the season. The Hoyas lost to Xavier in their last game. Georgetown got off to a 3-3 start this year with losses to Northwestern, LMU and American. Since then it’s been a 2-4 stretch for the Hoyas with losses to Texas Tech, South Carolina, Syracuse and Xavier during that time. 

Georgetown took on Xavier in their last matchup on Friday. The Hoyas were down 43-38 by the break and couldn’t get any closer despite 51 second-half points in a 102-89 loss. Amir Spears was the leading team scorer with 22 points.

Over on the UConn side, it’s been smooth sailing so far. The victories have come versus Stonehill, Boston U, Buffalo, UNCW, Delaware State, Oregon, Alabama, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Florida, LIU and Butler in succession. 

On Saturday versus Butler, UConn didn’t have too much trouble. The Huskies took a 28-20 edge into the second half and scored 40 more points from there in a 68-46 win. Adama Sanogo doubled up with 27 points and 14 rebounds in the victory. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with UConn in this one. There’s not much to complain about with the Huskies so far; they’ve taken care of business on this 12-game win streak. UConn shot 39.4 percent from the field in their latest win over Butler, adding 54 rebounds (18 offensive) and 20 team assists. The Huskies are scoring great this year with 68 or more points in every game. As for Georgetown, they’ve hit 71 or more points in three of their last four but they’re also just 1-3 in that time. The Hoyas are going to have a tough time finding offense in this one and I don’t think they’ll get close.
