USC vs Oregon State 12/4/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oregon State Beavers and the USC Trojans meet in a Pac-12 conference college basketball matchup from the Galen Center on Sunday.

The Oregon State Beavers will be out to build on their 66-65 upset win over Washington last time out. Jordan Pope leads Oregon State in scoring with 14.6 PPG and a team-high 3.8 APG to lead the Beavers in the assist department up to this point in the year. Glenn Taylor Jr. has 12.4 PPG with 3.1 RPG and 2.4 APG and Dexter Akanno has 10.6 PPG with 2.1 APG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Oregon State so far this season while Rodrigue Andela has 6.8 PPG and a team-high 5.4 RPG to lead the Beavers on the glass this season. As a team, Oregon State is averaging 67.3 PPG on 45.4% shooting from the field, 28.1% from three and 74% from the foul line this season.

The USC Trojans will hope to build on a 66-51 win over Cal last time out. Boogie Ellis leads the Trojans in scoring with 16.5 PPG along with 3.3 RPG and 2.1 APG while Drew Peterson has 14.9 PPG with team-highs of 8 RPG and 6.4 APG to lead the Trojans in rebounding and assists as the only other double-digit scorer for USC this season. Joshua Morgan also has 6.6 RPG and Reese Dixon-Waters has 9.9 PPG and 3.6 RPG. As a team, USC is averaging 71.5 PPG on 45.6% shooting from the field, 32.6% from three and 70.6% from the foul line this season.

Oregon State is 3-7-1 ATS in their last 11 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 12-4 in their last 16 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600. USC is 5-16 ATS in their last 21 home games and 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games against a team with a losing road record while the over is 5-2-1 in their last 8 games following a win.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m leaning towards Oregon State here. I haven’t been eager to back the Beavers for much of anything this season, but this is too high of a line for me with USC, and the Beavers snagged covers in both meetings with USC last year, including a 3-point loss in double OT. I think the Beavers could keep this one close against a USC team I’m not ready to crown with these heavy numbers just yet.
