Utah vs Idaho State 11/14/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Idaho State Bengals and the Utah Utes meet Monday in college basketball action from Jon M. Huntsman Center. Idaho State is 1-1 this year following a win over Westcliff in their last outing. Idaho State took on BYU in their first matchup of the year. The Bengals scored just 22 points in the first half, eventually losing 60-56. Tops in scoring was Brock MacKenzie with 15 points, and Maleek Arington added 11 points with two boards. 

In game two against Westcliff, the Bengals had much better luck. Idaho State posted 56 points in the first half and 41 more from there in a 97-56 blowout win. Miguel Tomley was tops in scoring this time with 19 points and five assists. 

Over on the Utah side, they played Long Island University in their first outing of the season. The Utes outscored the Sharks 47-20 in the second half of that matchup in an 89-48 win. Branden Carlson topped the team with a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. 

Utah continued to roll in game two versus Cal State Bakersfield. The Utes scored 36 points in each half and ended up with a 72-44 win. Gabe Madsen led the team on 25 points, and Ben Carlson added 13 points with seven rebounds. 

PICK: I’m probably staying with Utah but the line is a little too thick to mess with. The Utes have posted a couple of very solid performances in their first two games. Utah shot 48.1 percent from the field in their last game, adding 39 rebounds and 19 team assists in a great all-around effort. As for Idaho State, they’ve been competitive so far in their first pair of games. This will probably be the toughest matchup so far for the Bengals though, and I don’t think they’ll keep the pace.
