Washington vs Utah Tech 11/14/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Utah Tech Trailblazers and the Washington Huskies meet Monday in college basketball action from Hec Edmundson Pavilion. Utah Tech is 1-1 so far this year. The Trailblazers are coming off a win over CSU Northridge. As for Washington, they’re 2-0 following a win versus North Florida in their last game. Utah Tech opened up their season versus Nevada. The Trailblazers were outscored 44-39 in the first half and ended up with an 84-71 loss. Cameron Gooden led the team with 16 points, and Noa Gonsalves added 13 points with eight boards. 

In game two versus CSU Northridge, the Trailblazers notched 33 points in the first half and 36 more from there in a 69-63 win. Gooden led the way on 17 points with eight rebounds. Frank Staine added 10 points with six rebounds of his own. 

Over on the Washington side, it’s been smooth sailing so far. The Huskies opened up versus Weber State last Monday, eventually taking a 69-52 win. Keion Brooks led the way on 20 points and PJ Fuller notched 10 points with four assists. 

Back on Friday in their second game versus North Florida, Washington kept it rolling. The Huskies were down 34-28 at the break but eventually powered out a win 75-67. Keyon Menifield topped the team on 21 points, while Franck Kepnang doubled on 16 points and 10 boards. 

PICK: I’m leaning toward Washington here, but probably staying away. The Huskies have had a couple of manageable games so far and they’ve been taking care of business. In the comeback win over North Florida, Washington shot 40.3 percent from the field with 48 rebounds and 13 assists in a pretty nice effort. If the Huskies can keep the shots falling at that rate they should be fine on a cover against the Trailblazers.
