Wofford vs Gardner-Webb 11/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Gardner-Webb Runnin’ Bulldogs and the Wofford Terriers meet Friday in college basketball action from Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Gardner-Webb enters this one at 0-3 so far. The Bulldogs lost to North Carolina in their last outing. As for Wofford, they’re 1-2 following a loss to Drake on Monday. Gardner-Webb faced off against Colorado State in their opener. The Bulldogs were up 36-25 by halftime but folded from there in a 65-63 loss. Game two against Stephen F. Austin was another defeat, this time 86-71. 

Strangely enough, Gardner-Webb was able to hang with top-ranked North Carolina pretty well in their last game. The Bulldogs were down 26-22 going into the second half and ended up with a 72-66 loss. Anthony Selden led the way on 21 points. 

Over on the Wofford side, they didn’t have any trouble at all with Bob Jones University in their opener and cruised to a 120-48 blowout win. Game two against High Point was the Terriers’ first loss, this one a 91-80 outcome. 

On Monday versus Drake, the Terriers were down three points at the break. Wofford trailed 44-39 the rest of the way in an 80-72 loss. Corey Tripp was the high man on 18 points, and Jackson Paveletzke added 15 points with three boards. 

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on Gardner-Webb. The Bulldogs played with purpose in a very tough North Carolina matchup on Monday and fell just short. Gardner-Webb shot 41.3 percent from the field in that one and notched 38 rebounds to the Tar Heels’ 40. As for Wofford, they’ve been scoring well this year with 72 points or more in each game so far. That said, if the Bulldogs can bounce back from their latest loss well I think they’ll cover here.
