The Army Black Knights and the American Eagles meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Bender Arena. Army comes into this one at 11-10 so far. Army Black Knights
Army beat Keystone, Siena, Merchant Marine, Wagner, NJIT, Central CT State and Lehigh in their first 14 games. Since then, the Knights are 4-3 with losses to Colgate, Bucknell and Navy during that time.
In the Navy game on Saturday, the Knights took a 39-31 lead into the second half. Army was outscored 46-32 from there and lost 77-71. Chris Mann was the top scorer with 28 points and eight rebounds.
American Eagles
Over on the American side, they started the year at 11-3 with losses to Marist, George Mason and Siena. The Eagles have since hit a 1-4 stretch with losses to Army, Lehigh, Lafayette and Colgate.
Matched up against Colgate on Saturday, the Eagles were down 32-31 by the break. American didn’t end up gaining any ground and lost a tough one 62-61. Leading the team in scoring was Colin Smalls with 15 points.

I might take a stab on American here. The Eagles really need to break out of this 0-4 stretch, and they didn’t play especially well the last time these teams met up. Back on January 11 American lost 72-60 to Army at Christl Arena. The Eagles were down 32-19 at the break and didn’t gain much ground after that. American has been struggling on offense lately, but if they can get off to a good start here I can see them pulling off the cover. Should be a fun game if both teams play to their capabilities.
