The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Auburn Tigers meet in college basketball action from the Auburn Arena on Saturday.
The Arkansas Razorbacks will look to build on their 74-68 win over Missouri in their last game. Ricky Council IV leads the Hogs in scoring with 18.4 PPG and 2.4 APG while Anthony Black has 11.7 PPG and 3.8 APG to lead Arkansas in assists and to also make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Arkansas up to this point this season. As a team, Arkansas is averaging 77.4 PPG on 48.5% shooting from the field, 29.9% from three point range and 71.5% from the foul line this season.
The Auburn Tigers will try to bounce back from a 76-64 loss to Georgia last time out. Johni Broome leads the Tigers in scoring and rebounding with 13.1 PPG and 8.7 RPG while Wendell Green Jr. has 12.3 PPG with 3.7 RPG and a team-high 3.5 APG as the only other Auburn player averaging double figures in scoring so far this season. Jaylin Williams also has 9.8 PPG this season for the Tigers. As a team, Auburn is averaging 72.1 points per game on 43.4% shooting from the field, 28.9% from behind the three point line and 66.9% from the foul line this season.
Arkansas is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS loss while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Auburn is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Saturday games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600.
I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but I’m sticking with Arkansas. I just feel that they’re the better team and while they have lost a couple of their better players in Brazile and Smith Jr, with Brazile gone for the season, we’ve seen the Razorbacks adapt and take on a next man up mentality. The Tigers are good, but I’m just not a huge believer in this team if I’m being honest. Give me Arkansas for the big road win here.
