Baylor vs Kansas State 1/7/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Kansas State Wildcats and the Baylor Bears meet Saturday in college basketball action from Ferrell Center. Kansas State is 13-1 overall and fresh off an upset win over Texas. Kansas State lost game seven to Butler but since then it’s been smooth sailing. The Wildcats have beaten Wichita State, Abilene Christian, Incarnate Word, Nebraska, Radford, West Virginia and Texas since their lone defeat. 

On Tuesday versus Texas, the Wildcats jumped out to a 58-40 lead by halftime. Kansas State was outscored 63-58 from there but prevailed 116-103 for the upset. Markquis Nowell led the team on 36 points with nine assists. 

Over on the Baylor side, they were 10-2 through a dozen games this year with losses to only Virginia and Marquette. The Bears have lost their last two games to Iowa State and TCU, however. 

Matched up against TCU on Wednesday, the Bears were up 49-39 by halftime. Baylor was outscored 49-38 in the second half for a tough 88-87 defeat. Keyonte George topped the team on 27 points with six rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to try Kansas State here. This should be a great matchup regardless, though. The Wildcats played a stellar game versus Texas in their last outing, shooting 60 percent from the field with 54.2 percent from 3-point range and a 33-26 rebounding advantage. Kansas State has been performing very well this year and they’ve hit 71 or more points in six straight outings. As for Baylor, they’re amid a gauntlet of very tough games right now, and they should have beaten TCU on Wednesday. I like this one to be another close matchup as Kansas State powers out a cover. Should be a fun game to watch.
