Texas Longhorns
Texas managed a pretty nice 17-3 run over their first 20 games this year. The Longhorns are 5-3 since then with wins over Baylor, Kansas State, West Virginia, Oklahoma and Iowa State. The losses otherwise came versus Tennessee, Kansas and Texas Tech.
Matched up against Iowa State in the Tuesday game, the Longhorns jumped out to a 47-29 halftime lead. Texas cruised from there on a 25-25 stretch and won it 72-54. Tyrese Hunter and Jabari Rice were the top team scorers on 15 points each.
Baylor Bears
Over on the Baylor side, they were 15-5 at the 20-game mark this season. The Bears have had mixed results since on a 5-3 run with wins over Arkansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, TCU and West Virginia alongside losses to Texas, Kansas and Kansas State.
On Tuesday in the Kansas State matchup, the Bears took a 34-31 edge into the locker room. Baylor was outscored 44-31 in the second half and lost 75-65. Keyonte George notched 23 points and Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua doubled on 11 points and 12 rebounds.

I’ll probably stick with Texas here. You could make a case either way, though; it should be a good matchup. That said, the Longhorns are sitting on consecutive wins with a combined 157 points scored in that pair. Texas has managed 67 or more points in 13 straight games and a quick start here would go a long way toward a potential cover. These teams last met on January 30 at Moody Center. That one was a tricky 76-71 win for the Longhorns and this road rematch should be contentious as well. Baylor is sitting on consecutive double-digit losses right now so they’re harder to trust. I like a Texas cover (and maybe a win) here in a fun matchup to watch.
