Central Arkansas vs Lipscomb Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/9/23

Lipscomb Bisons 

Lipscomb posted an erratic start to their year, going 9-7 over the first 16 games. The Bisons are 6-3 in their last nine however, beating Austin Peay (twice), Eastern Kentucky, Bellarmine, Queens NC and Liberty in that time. 

On Saturday versus Liberty, the Bisons were all tied up at 30-30 by halftime. Lipscomb hit a 39-34 second-half run and won it 69-64. Derrin Boyd put up 22 points with five rebounds and Will Pruitt added 16 points with six boards. 

Central Arkansas Bears

Over on the Central Arkansas side, they went a rough 5-11 over their first 16 games. The Bears are just 3-6 since then, taking losses to Austin Peay, Liberty, North Alabama (twice), Jacksonville and Stetson along the way. 

Matched up against Stetson on Saturday, the Bears fell behind 46-32 by halftime. Central Arkansas was outscored 53-48 in the second half and lost 99-80. Leading team scorer Eddy Kayouloud posted 24 points and four rebounds.

I’m staying with Lipscomb. The Bisons are fresh off a win over a good Liberty team, and they’ve hit 66 or more points in eight straight games. As for Central Arkansas, they’re just 5-2 in their last seven outings but they’re still scoring pretty well. The Bears have hit 80 or more points in three of their last four games; they’ve given up 74 or more in 16 consecutive games as well, though. Lipscomb should have plenty of scoring opportunities in this one, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see a high total here.
