CSU-Fullerton vs Hawaii 1/7/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the Cal State Fullerton Titans meet Saturday in college basketball action from Titan Gym. Hawaii is fresh off a Thursday matchup against UC San Diego. In that one The Warriors managed a 13-point victory. As for Cal State Fullerton, they took on UC Riverside in their Thursday game. The Titans would go on to win by 15 points. Hawaii managed a solid 7-3 run over their first 10 games, losing to Yale, Texas A&M-Commerce and UNLV. The Warriors would keep it going in their next four with wins over Washington State, SMU, UC Davis and Cal Poly. 

Matched up against UC San Diego on Thursday, the Warriors were up 35-21 going into the second half. Hawaii was outscored 28-27 from there but still held on for the 62-49 win. Bernardo da Silva led the way on 20 points with seven rebounds. 

Over on the Cal State Fullerton side, they were 4-6 after 10 games with wins over Pepperdine, Vermont, Pacific and Westcliff. The Titans went 3-1 over the next quartet, beating SDCC, Sacramento State and CSU Northridge. 

In the Thursday game versus UC Riverside, the Titans rolled in the first half with a 44-28 advantage. Cal State Fullerton kept the pace in the second and won it 77-62. Latrell Wrightsell was tops on 29 points with four rebounds. 

PICK: I’ll probably stay with Hawaii. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a fairly low-scoring outcome here; both teams seem fairly comfortable in those methodical, defense-heavy matchups. The Warriors have allowed 66 points or fewer in each of their last five games, winning all five of them. Hawaii is on a seven-game win streak in total and looking pretty good. As for CSU Fullerton, they’ve held opponents to fewer than 70 points in eight straight games. The Titans should match up pretty well here so it should be a great game.
