Florida vs Missouri 1/14/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Missouri Tigers and the Florida Gators meet in college basketball action from the Exactech Arena on Saturday.

The Missouri Tigers will be looking for some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last four games after an 82-64 loss to Texas A&M last time out. D’Moi Hodge leads the Tigers in scoring with 15.5 PPG along with 3.9 RPG while Kobe Brown has 15.3 PPG with a team-high 5.6 RPG to lead the Tigers on the glass. Noah Carter has 10.6 PPG and 4.7 RPG while DeAndre Gholston has 10.8 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Missouri up to this point in the year. Nick Honor also has 9.6 PPG and a team-high 3.6 APG as well on the year to lead Missouri in assists. As a team, Missouri is averaging 85.7 PPG on 49.4% shooting from the field, 35.9% from three and 75.5% from the foul line this season.

The Florida Gators will hope to build on back-to-back wins after a 67-56 win over LSU last time out. Colin Castleton leads the Gators in scoring and rebounding with 14.9 PPG and 7.4 RPG while Kowacie Reeves has 10.2 PPG to round out the group of double-digit scorers for Florida so far this season. Kyle Lofton also has 9.1 PPG with 3.3 APG to lead the Gators in assists this season. As a team, Florida is averaging 74.3 points per game on 45.1% shooting from the field, 33% from three point range and 75.4% from the foul line this season.

Missouri is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following an ATS loss. Florida is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win and 3-14 ATS in their last 17 games following a win while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 games overall.

I get the case to be made for Florida at home here, but I’m sticking with Missouri. I just don’t trust the Gators as far as I can throw them and I still feel that they’re a bit overrated/overhyped. Missouri’s earned the respect from a lot of their wins this season like beating up Kentucky and Illinois and I think they could get one over on Florida here. Give me the Tigers and the points.
