The Saint Joseph’s Hawks and the Fordham Rams meet Saturday in college basketball action from Rose Hill Gym. Saint Joseph’s is 6-8 overall this year. The Hawks lost to Dayton in their last game. As for Fordham, they’re 12-3 on the season after a loss to Rhode Island. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Saint Joseph’s ended up 3-7 after 10 games this year, beating only Lafayette, Albany and Penn. The Hawks are 2-2 since then with wins over Sacred Heart and Central CT State before losses to Saint Louis and Dayton.

In the Dayton game on Wednesday, the Hawks were outscored 38-30 in the first half. Saint Joseph’s posted a 38-26 deficit from there and lost 76-56. Cameron Brown led the team scoring on 13 points with five rebounds.

Over on the Fordham side, they hit a 9-1 run through 10 games with only a November 11 loss to Arkansas on the card. The Rams won three more games after that, and have since fallen to Davidson and Rhode Island.

Matched up against Rhode Island on Wednesday, the Rams were down 36-30 going into the second half. Fordham made a game of it from there but still lost 82-79. Darius Quisenberry led the way on 33 points.

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Fordham. The Rams need a rejuvenating victory in this one following two sub-par performances against Davidson and Rhode Island, and I think they’ll get it here. The Rams have routinely finished above 70 points this season and shouldn’t have much trouble keeping a cover pace. As for Saint Joseph’s, they’re playing better lately overall but probably won’t be able to keep up here if Fordham plays to their capabilities.
