Oklahoma Sooners

Oklahoma got through the first 22 games of the year with a 12-10 record. In the seven games since, the Sooners are just 2-5, however. The losses in that time have come versus West Virginia, Baylor, Kansas, Texas and Texas Tech.

Back on Saturday versus Iowa State, Oklahoma trailed 28-23 going into the locker room. The Sooners stormed back on a 38-22 run from there and took the upset win 61-50. Jacob Groves led the team on his 16 points and five rebounds.

Kansas State Wildcats

Over on the Kansas State side, they held an 18-4 record after their first 22 outings this year. The Wildcats are 4-3 in their last seven with wins over TCU, Iowa State, Baylor and Oklahoma State mixed with losses to Texas, Texas Tech and Oklahoma.

Matched up against Oklahoma State on Saturday, Kansas State trailed 35-33 after the first half. In the second, the Wildcats hit a 40-33 run for the 73-68 comeback win in the end. Tops in scoring was Markquis Nowell with 22 points and eight assists.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to stick with Kansas State. This should be a good matchup regardless however, so you could easily make a case for the Sooners. Kansas State posted a comeback victory versus Oklahoma State in their last outing, but they didn’t start particularly well. The Wildcats are on a three-game win streak right now, however the team’s last loss came at Lloyd Noble Center in a 79-65 result back on February 14 versus Oklahoma. The Sooners shot a nice 51 percent from the floor in that one and hit 11-of-23 (47.8 percent) from 3-point range. Oklahoma is coming off a big road win over Iowa State, so the Wildcats will have their hands full in this rematch. I like Kansas State to play better at home and power out the cover, though. It’ll be a fun one to watch.
