Kansas State vs Oklahoma State 1/10/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Kansas State Wildcats meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Bramlage Coliseum. Oklahoma State sits at 9-6 on the season following a loss to Texas on Saturday. As for Kansas State, they’re 14-1 overall this year. The Wildcats took out Baylor in their Saturday matchup. Oklahoma State managed a 6-4 run through their first 10 games with losses to Southern Illinois, UCF, UConn and Virginia Tech. The Cowboys are 3-2 since then with losses to Kansas and Texas within their last three outings. 

On Saturday versus Texas, the Cowboys took a 32-24 deficit into the second half. Oklahoma State was outscored 24-22 from there and lost 56-46. Kalib Boone managed to notch a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. 

Over on the Kansas State side, they took their only loss of the season 76-64 to Butler back on November 30. Since then it’s been wins over Wichita State, Abilene Christian, Incarnate Word, Nebraska, Radford, West Virginia, Texas and Baylor. 

Matched up against Baylor on Saturday, the Wildcats scored 47 points in the first half, 39 more in the second and 11 in overtime to eke out an epic 97-95 victory. Marquis Nowell went off for 32 points and 14 assists, while Keyontae Johnson added 24 points. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Kansas State here. The Wildcats are on fire right now after consecutive victories over ranked teams. Kansas State has been scoring very well lately; they’ve hit 71 or more points in seven straight outings. So long as the Wildcats aren’t looking past this one to the TCU matchup Saturday, I think they’ll be firmly in line for a cover. Oklahoma State is certainly capable of hanging around for this whole game if they play well, but the 46 points against Texas doesn’t exactly bode well for a gangbusters performance here.
