Queens NC managed a 15-9 record over their first 24 outings of the year. The Royals finished off the regular season on a sketchy 2-5 run, falling to Eastern Kentucky, Bellarmine, Jacksonville State and Liberty (twice).

Kennesaw State Owls
Over on the Kennesaw State side, they started out on an 18-6 run through their first 24 games this year. The Owls have since gone 5-2 with wins over Jacksonville State (twice), Liberty, North Alabama and Central Arkansas. Kennesaw State lost to Queens NC and Eastern Kentucky otherwise.
Matched up against Central Arkansas on Friday, the Owls managed a 39-28 advantage by the break. Kennesaw State cruised on a 33-28 second half and won it 72-56. Demond Robinson led the team on 13 points with four rebounds.

I’ll probably stay with Kennesaw State here. The Owls enter this tournament looking for their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth, and they’ve got a great chance at it. Kennesaw State lost their last appearance at KSU Convocation Center (83-76 to Queens NC on February 18), but the team has been great at home all year otherwise. This is a fitting tournament matchup in the return to that court, as the Royals haven’t had a ton of success lately otherwise. I like Queens NC to hang around for a while before Kennesaw State asserts themselves at home in a bit of revenge.
