The Fordham Rams and the La Salle Explorers meet Saturday in college basketball action from Tom Gola Arena. Fordham is 13-4 overall this year. The Rams lost to Dayton in their last game. As for La Salle, they’re 8-8 on the season following a win over UMass. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Fordham won 12 of their first 13 games this year with a lone loss to Arkansas in game two. The Rams would lose consecutive games to Davidson and Rhode Island, then beat Saint Joseph’s before another loss to Dayton.

Back on Tuesday versus the Flyers, Fordham was drilled 33-18 in the first half. The Rams took a 49-40 deficit in the second half and lost 82-58. Will Richardson led the team with 13 points, and Khalid Moore added 10 points with four boards.

Over on the La Salle side, they were 5-7 after 12 games this year. The Explorers have since gone 3-1 in their last four games, beating Howard, VCU and Rhode Island before a loss to UMass in that stretch.

On Wednesday versus UMass, the Explorers took a 44-38 deficit into the break. La Salle posted a 40-33 run in the second half and won the comeback 78-77. Jhamir Brickus led the way on 25 points with six rebounds.

PICK: I’ll probably stick with Fordham. This one could get interesting, though. The Rams are flailing over this 1-3 stretch, posting 66 or fewer points in three of those games (including 43 versus Davidson). La Salle is trending in the opposite direction in this 3-1 run; they’ve hit 77 or more points in all three of those victories. I like Fordham to get it together and cover/win here, but I’m probably staying away.
