Louisville vs Georgia Tech Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/1/23

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Georgia Tech lost to Utah, Marquette, Iowa, North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia, Florida State and Notre Dame in their first 16 games. Since then the Yellow Jackets have lost to Pittsburgh, NC State, Syracuse, Clemson and Duke in succession. 

In the Duke game on Saturday, Georgia Tech was drilled 43-25 in the first half. The Jackets fell even further back on a 43-18 second half during an 86-43 blowout loss. Tristan Maxwell was tops in scoring with 10 points and two assists. 

Louisville Cardinals 

Over on the Louisville side, they’ve beaten Western Kentucky and Florida A&M this year, with both victories coming in mid-December. Since then it’s been losses to Lipscomb, NC State, Kentucky, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Clemson, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Notre Dame. 

Matched up against Notre Dame on Saturday, the Cardinals went into the locker room with a 46-24 deficit. Louisville got better on a 38-30 second-half run but still fell 76-62. Mike James led the team with 14 points and four rebounds. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m going to take a stab on Louisville here. Granted, there’s not much to like about a game featuring two teams with a combined 10 wins, but this should at least be a decent matchup if both teams play well. Louisville hasn’t cracked 65 points for four straight games, and Georgia Tech has been at 63 points or fewer in four of the last five. This matchup could go a lot of different ways but I’m leaning toward it being a fairly high-scoring shootout. I like a competitive game with a Louisville cover/win in the end.
