Fairleigh Dickinson Knights

Fairleigh Dickinson posted a 15-11 record over their first 26 outings this year. The Knights finished off the regular season on a sketchy 2-3 run with losses to Central CT State, Sacred Heart and St. Francis PA. Fairleigh Dickinson then beat St. Francis BK in the tournament.

In game two of Northeast Conference Tournament activity, the Knights took on St. Francis PA. Fairleigh Dickinson took a 35-28 lead into the second half and cruised to the win 70-50. Leading team scorer Demetre Roberts put up 18 points with five assists.

Merrimack Warriors

Over on the Warriors’ side, they were 10-16 at the 26-game mark this year. Merrimack finished out with wins over St. Francis PA, Hartford, Sacred Heart, Central CT State and LIU, then beat LIU again in the first game of the tournament back on Wednesday.

Matched up against Sacred Heart in the second game, the Warriors were up 33-28 in the locker room. Merrimack hit a 38-32 second-half run and won it 71-60. Jordan Minor led the team on a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll probably lean Merrimack in this one. You could make a case either way, though; this should be a good matchup. The Warriors are on a nice 10-game winning streak right now, and they’ve scored 67 or more points in nine of those outings. Fairleigh Dickinson has the advantage in meetups this year though, winning both. First was a 71-63 home win on December 29, then a 78-71 victory on January 28 at Hammel Court. The Knights have hit 70 or more points in four straight games themselves, so Merrimack will have to kick the offense into high gear to keep pace. I think the Warriors can do it.

Andrew's Free Pick: Merrimack Warriors -3.5
